Whatsapp has been updating various new advanced features such as Text status stories, video calling and much more. This time social messenger introduced Whatsapp video calling button right next to the voice call button in the next Whatsapp update available only for Android users. So the Android users who updated their Whatsapp to the most recent V2.17.146 update will get the video call button on top of chat panel and in the message panel.

In previous Whatsapp Android versions, we’ve only single calling button on the top panel, so if the users wanted to select voice call or video call, they should long press the button which shows voice and video call buttons on the menu. Now with the latest update along with the regular voice call button, there is a dedicated video call button provided on the top chat panel and this dedicated video call button also available in message box next to the camera and voice recording icon.

Although the dedicated video calling button is available for iOS users for a long time, and now the new little video calling button tweak offered to the Android users. There is also another change in the text box which has revised with a rounded shape design than the previous edgy square shape. So if you still haven’t updated the Whatsapp, go to play store and update Whatsapp to the most recent version.

News sources also claim that Whatsapp is also working on upcoming advanced features which provide easy interaction to the users. The upcoming features allow users to pin their favorite contacts or chats on the top menu so that they can find them easily on the top menu. This feature is available for Whatsapp beta user through the software update of 2.17.162 and 2.17.163 versions. The favorite contacts feature will be available for beta users in the action bar which lays next to the delete, mute, and archive functions menu.

Pinning favorite contacts on Whatsapp Beta Android version is similar to the Facebook and Twitter, but the Whatsapp beta users complain that one can only pin up to 3 contacts and if anyone tries to add another contact an alert will popup saying that ” You can’t pin more.” However, the beta user has the option to unpin favorite contacts and replace the position with another contact.

Here are steps to get Whatsapp new features

  1. Go to Playstore installed apps tab and under which find Whatsapp tab, click install latest update option it will take some minutes to update and install.
  2. If you want to try Whatsapp beta Android version, find ‘Beta Join’ option on the bottom edge of the Whatsapp menu click ON it to enjoy the beta features.
  3. Once you joined the beta program, you will get separate beta app updates from the dedicated Beta tab on the installed apps section.
