Qualcomm introduced Snapdragon

At Mobile World Congress 2017 at Shanghai, Qualcomm launched two new advanced hardware configurations Snapdragon 450 chipset and Snapdragon Wear 1200 which will be joining the lower end lineup of chipsets coming from Qualcomm technologies. The Snapdragon 400 series has been top-rated since last year, and it especially comes in the very budget segment.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 450

Kicking off with the newly announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset, it features an Octa-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU chips which are designed on the 14nm FinFET process that delivers 25 percent increase in computing performance compared to its predecessor Snapdragon 435 processor. There is an Additional, the integrated Adreno 506 GPU which provides more than 25 percent increase in graphics performance compared to previous Snapdragon 435 chipset.

As we mentioned the all new Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor also to offers up to 4 hours more battery life than its predecessor 435 chipset and it is capable of delivering up to a 30 percent reduction in power consumption when playing games. It also supports for LTE Cat 6 network connectivity with its Snapdragon X9 LTE technology offering a screen resolution up to full-HD (1440×2160 pixels) and also USB 3.0 charging port along with Quick Charge 3.0.

There is also support for a large number of mobile bandwidths with Snapdragon All Mode, and 802.11ac with MU-MIMO support. It is also worth saying that this is the first chip in the whole Snapdragon 400 lineup that supports real-time Bokeh.

This means that we may expect portrait mode will arrive on mid-range Smartphone’s as well, and the real-time Bokeh effect will enable you to look how you picture will look after. Snapdragon 450 processor also supports for Dual-Camera Setup at two 13MP or a single camera that supports up to 21MP with hybrid autofocus, 1080p video capture and playback at up to 60fps, enabling slow motion capture.

Snapdragon Wear 1200

Along with the Snapdragon 450 processor, Qualcomm also announced a wearable chipset called Snapdragon Wear 1200.This is the successor to the Snapdragon 1100 wearable chipset, which is designed to Internet-connected wearable’s, fitness bands, as well as tracker bands for kids, pets, and elders. The all new Snapdragon Wear 1200 chipset comes in 45% less than its predecessor, and it supports LTE Cat. M1/NB1 network connectivity which allows low-power consumption on 4G network without using too much battery power.

It also loads of some location features which includes support for GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou constellations with low power geofencing which uses advanced Qualcomm Technologies’ cloud-based location services. Qualcomm also mentioned that it has some integrated applications coming in with this processor for Linux and ThreadX based applications and it supports voice over LTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.

The new Snapdragon Wear 1200 will be integrated with all new Secure Execution Environment from Qualcomm Technologies which is a hardware cryptographic engine, and it is also known as hardware random number generator, and this has TrustZone for privacy and security and which comes with it.
