NASA scientists found a long-lasting lake environment on Mars
NASA scientists recently found that there was a long-lasting lake on planet Mars which may have provided suitable environment conditions for the existence of living creatures more than three billion years ago. All these information and proofs have been found using data from NASA’s Curiosity rover mission.
Researcher’s claims that, the large lake on the planet Mars was filled with sharp chemical and rich minerals, but the scientists found that there are some physical differences in different parts of the lake such as shallow water has rich oxidants than the deeper water.
“These were very different, co-existing environments in the same lake,” said Joel Hurowitz of Stony Brook University in the US.
“This type of oxidant delamination is a common feature of lakes or rivers on Earth, and now we’ve successfully found it on Mars,” said Mr. Hurowitz.
“The diversity of environments in this Martian lake would have provided multiple opportunities for different types of living things to survive, including those that thrive in oxidant- rich conditions, those that grow in oxidant-poor conditions, and those that reside the interface between those settings,” he said.
We’ve been trying to find out the life of our solar system, but the planet Mars is the only one which has some suitable environmental conditions for living. We still don’t know whether the Mars ever hosted any life or not, but data from Curiosity rover proves that there was a life before the apocalypse.

Curiosity rover was landed on Mars 2012 with a primary goal to determine whether Mars have suitable environmental conditions before and it has any creatures lived there. In its first year of research, Curiosity rover found the evidence of lake and river environments on the Mars planet with the help of underground soil tests. All proofs and data were sent to the NASA data center for further research. Finally, scientists found that Mars environment has a possible environment for living.
Curiosity project scientist Ashwin Vasavada said that “These results give us unprecedented detail in answering questions about ancient environmental conditions on Mars,” By wrapping up the above information let’s hope that there is possible living environment out there so that in future we can build research facilities.
