LG Chem is One Year Away to Open the Largest Battery Factory in Europe
The boom in electric vehicles means there will be a need for batteries like never before; all the major automakers have already deduced their plans for EV models, and LG Chem is building Europe largest battery factory to meet the demand that comes with EVs.
Reports from Reuters say that the LG Chem’s battery factory will be built in Poland most probably around the southwestern city of Wroclaw. The company’s vice president Chang-Beom Kang has claimed that Poland would be the most competitive place to build the battery factory at, and will also be an ideal place to supply for all of Europe’s carmakers.
LG Chem’s new battery factory will have all the lithium and other raw materials imported from Asia. The company has claimed to use the local polish suppliers as well. This means battery factory will play a major role in Poland’s raw materials import business.
LG Chem’s battery factory that will be the Europe’s largest battery factory will be able to build and supply battery packs for about 100,000 electric vehicles every year. The company has also claimed that they have tie-ups with large automakers, and are excited to work with them to produce some of the best EVs in the market. Tesla’s Gigafactory still is by all means superior to the LG Chem’ s factory in production rate; as a matter of fact, the new factory will only be able to 10 percent of Tesla Gigafactory’s production rate.
The new generations of electric vehicles will be made more and more interest by car makers with enough supply for their power packs. This new change in the automotive world has been the biggest eco-friendly change to the world since the birth of motor vehicles. LG Chem’s factory will be ready to produce next year; benefiting everyone in Europe especially Polish.
