Amazon Fire tablets aren’t popular as other branded tablets, but the only thing is they’re the more affordable tablets compared others. Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet has officially launched by Amazon starts at just $80 for the year of 2017, and along with the Fire HD 8 tablet, it launched Fire 7, Fire 7 kids edition and Fire HD 8 Kids Edition.

Vibrant display

Fire HD 8 comes with vibrant 8 inches HD display which supports 1280X800 resolution, and the 189PPI pixels provides you a bright, vivid picture quality. Enjoy the HD quality movies and games with the crystal clear Fire HD 8 resolution and less glare. Amazon Fire 8 tablet offers wide viewing angles, and the colors aren’t saturated.

Design

Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet offers a lot of unused space on the front side edges, and you have a front facing Selfie camera provided at the top. The back of Fire 8 tablet is made with plastic which feels slippery, and there is Amazon logo on center, on the top left you will find a rear facing camera.

All the control buttons are placed on the top edge of the tablet, and the volume button is provided on the left side and the power button on the right side. A 3.5mm headphone jack and MicroUSB ports are placed in between the control buttons.

Fire HD 8 performance

Coming to Fire HD 8 performance, it doesn’t have many upgrades over the 2016 model but it has dual-band Wi-Fi supports so you can connect to 2.5GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi bands. Amazon HD 8 tablet is powered by a MediaTek MT8163V Quad-core processor integrated with a 1.5GB RAM which offers decent performance for this price.

Camera & Storage

Amazon offers two storage options 16GB and 32GB, so you have a choice to select variant according to your budget. Thanks to Amazon there is an expandable microSD card slot through which you can extend storage space up to 256GB.

Amazon claimed that battery has improved in new Fire HD 8 tablet, it will last up to 12 hours with the complete single charge which is 2-3 hours more than the regular tablets. Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet has a 2MP rear-facing camera allows to capture reasonable snaps or to record 720P video. On the front, HD 8 tablet has a VGA camera so it can be used to do basic video chats through Skype.

OS and other key features

Fire HD 8 tablet runs with Amazon Fire OS which is based on previous Android 5.1.1 Lollipop version although it is litter outdated, but Amazon made some customizations and added features to it.

The all new Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet comes with Alexa digital assistant feature which provides quick results to your queries. You can do a lot with Amazon Alexa feature such as checking your calendar, find the latest news, live scores and ask your favorite music.

Amazon Fire tablet users have access to try amazon prime service for a month which allows you to watch thousands of TV series and Movies . Amazon tablets are best used for e-book reading, so for prime users has unlimited access to books and comics.
